Paintball What to Wear

Going on a paintball outing? Here's what you should wear to make sure you're prepared! A big part of getting properly equipped for a day of paintball is knowing what you're putting on. While rental gear is fine, it's worth investing in your own paintball clothing and gear if you plan to paintball more than a few times.

The paintball mask is the most essential piece of safety equipment you'll need for a successful paintball experience. Full-face masks protect your eyes, nose, ears, and mouth from paintballs. It's important to choose a paintball mask with a proper, comfortable fit. You can organize a Mask Fitting session at your local paintball field to try different masks and goggles on for size and comfort.

The second most important piece of gear you'll need is paintball clothing. Wear something that is comfortable and non-restrictive. Cargo pants or shorts and a long sleeve shirt is recommended. If you are playing in particularly sunny or wet weather, you might also consider wearing a sun hat and raincoat as well.

In addition to your paintball mask and clothing, it's a good idea to wear protective gloves and a throat protector for additional coverage. Knee and elbow pads are also a great option if you plan on doing a lot of crawling and diving.

Comfortable, yet durable shoes are a must for protection, traction, and comfort. Avoid wearing open-toed shoes sneakers are usually the best choice. Also, make sure to wear a thick pair of socks they provide better traction and will keep your feet warm in colder weather.

A quality paintball marker is one of the most important pieces of equipment you'll need. In most cases, you can rent a gun from your local paintball field or store. If you prefer, you can also buy your own marker.

A hopper is an integral part of your marker. It's a magazine-like accessory that holds the paintballs and feeds them into the gun. Standard hoppers can hold up to about 200 paintballs, but you can get larger ones if you need to feed your gun for a long period of time.

Your paintball gun needs some kind of air source in order to shoot. The most common air sources are CO2 carbon dioxide tanks and compressed air tanks. CO2 tanks are the more affordable option, but compressed air tanks will give you more consistent air flow and potentially higher accuracy.

Barrels and Pods are essential accessories for paintball. Barrels help to stabilize the trajectory of paintballs. Loaders are accessories that attach to your marker and hold extra paintballs when the hopper runs out. Pods are flexible containers that hold spare paintballs for easy access on the field.

Paintball is a fun and exhilarating activity that only requires a few simple pieces of gear and clothing. Start off with a good full-face mask, comfortable clothing, protective gloves, and a throat protector. Bring your own marker and accompanying accessories like barrels, loaders, pods, a CO2 or compressed air tank, and plenty of paintballs. With the right equipment and clothing, you'll be all set to have a blast on the paintball field!
